1. Operator and contact

MizanBite is published by LingoLap, operated by Mohamed Almetwally Hamed Youssef (“we,” “us” or “our”). Contact mohamedshama39@gmail.com with privacy questions.

2. Information you submit for a scan

Depending on the feature you use, the App may process:

  • A product barcode.
  • An ingredient list entered or pasted as text.
  • An image captured or selected so the ingredient text can be analyzed.
  • The language and classification result needed to display an explanation.

This content is processed to respond to your requested scan. MizanBite does not require a user account and does not ask you to attach your name to an ingredient scan. Avoid including faces, identity documents, addresses or other personal information in product images.

3. Camera and photo access

The App requests camera or media access only when you choose a scanning feature that requires it. You can deny the permission and use another available input method. Camera access is not used for background recording.

4. Technical and advertising information

The App contains advertising. Google AdMob and related Google services may process an advertising identifier, IP address, approximate location derived from network information, device model, operating system, app version, language, crash or performance information and ad interactions. These providers use the information to deliver, secure and measure ads according to your device settings and consent choices.

We do not sell your personal information. See Google’s Privacy Policy for information about Google’s processing.

5. Product and analysis services

A barcode lookup or ingredient analysis may send the barcode, ingredient text or selected image to a product-information, cloud-processing or AI-analysis service configured for the feature. The submitted content is used to return product information or an ingredient classification. Such providers process information under their own terms and security practices.

6. Purpose of processing

  • Read a barcode or ingredient list requested by the user.
  • Identify ingredients and food additives.
  • Return a Halal, Haram, Doubtful or Unknown classification with a short reason.
  • Prevent abuse and protect the technical service.
  • Diagnose crashes and improve performance.
  • Display and measure advertising.
  • Respond to support and privacy inquiries.

7. Storage and retention

The App does not create an account-based scan history. Information stored only on your device can be removed by clearing app storage or uninstalling the App. Technical providers may retain limited security, diagnostic or advertising information under their own retention policies. A submitted scan may be processed transiently by the configured service to return the requested result.

8. Your choices

You may deny camera access, reset or restrict your device advertising identifier, limit personalized advertising where available, or stop using the App. If you contact support, we use your email and message only to respond and maintain necessary support records.

9. Children’s privacy

The App is not specifically directed to children under 13 and does not provide user accounts or social features. We do not knowingly request personal information from children. Contact us if you believe personal information from a child has been submitted.

10. Security and international processing

We use reasonable measures designed to protect requests in transit. Third-party services may process technical information in countries other than yours. No electronic system can be guaranteed completely secure.

11. Changes

We may update this policy when features, SDKs or legal requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version.
